Quickly cure network problems
If you use a home router to connect your PC to the Internet, you may find that occasionally your connection stops working and you have to reset your router or re-boot your laptop to get it going again. Often this is down to the Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP), which your router uses to automatically configure the network settings on your PC. However, the problem can usually be cured without any re-boots, by simply renewing your DHCP details as follows:
1. Press [Windows Key] + [R], type CMD and press [Enter].
2. At the command prompt type ipconfig /release then press [Enter].
3. Next, type ipconfig /renew and press [Enter].
4. Type exit followed by [Enter] to close the command prompt.
