Quickly Cure ActiveX Errors While You are Browsing the Web
ActiveX is a system that Windows uses to install software over the Internet, to make websites much more interactive and fun to use. Unfortunately it can also be used by hackers and virus writers to surreptitiously install malicious software on your PC. Because of this, there are many errors that can occur with ActiveX. If Internet Explorer throws up an ActiveX error while you are browsing the web, the problem is likely due to a faulty setting in your Internet options, possibly caused by old, out of date security software. You can easily rectify the situation as follows:
1. In Internet Explorer click Tools > Internet Options. Click on the Security tab then click Custom Level.
2. Scroll down to ActiveX controls and plug-ins, set Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt and Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins to Enable.
3. Click OK > OK to finish.
